Wilmington, Delaware

Thank you Dr. David Sabgir for starting Walk with a Doc in Columbus, OHIO back in 2005. All you need are a pair of comfortable shoes to get started.

In Delaware, the obesity rate was 15% in 1990- in 2014 it is reported at over 30%. Obesity is linked to heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, stroke, heart disease, some cancers and more!!!

Walk with a Doc is a walking program for anyone interested and able to take steps for a healthier lifestyle. Walking is low impact; easier on the joints than running. It is safe – with a doctor’s okay – for people with orthopedic ailments, heart conditions, and those who are more than 20% overweight.
Research has shown that you could gain two hours of life for each hour of regular exercise! That stroll around the block seems a little more worthwhile now, doesn’t it? While you walk at your own pace, you’ll have the opportunity to have questions answered by a local physician.

Let’s get healthier Delaware! We are such a small state, who know maybe a Senator or Governor or Congressman will join us if we set a great example for our neighbors, communities, and our families.
