Welcome to the Miami VA Walk with a Doc program.

Whole Health approach to health is part of the VA’s initiative to transition away from an illness-based healthcare system to a patient centered, wellness-based healthcare model. Our goal is to help veterans live the healthiest, most fulfilling lives possible. That means serving our veterans not just in hospitals and doctor’s offices when they are sick, but keeping them active, engaged, and living a healthy life in their community!

Walk with a Doc is a walking program for anyone interested in taking steps for a healthier lifestyle. You’ll take a few minutes to learn about a current health topic from a healthcare provider, then spend the rest of the morning enjoying a healthy walk and fun conversation. It’s a great way to get out, get active, and enjoy all the benefits that come from walking. You’ll be able to learn about all the new programs and initiatives the VA has to offer to get the most out of the benefits you’ve earned. Walks will take place at the listed location in Miami. Walks are open to all, and Veterans are encouraged to bring their friends, families, and especially other Veterans who may not know about all the great services the Miami VA has to offer!

You don’t need any special gear and there are no special rules. Our walking groups are a safe, fun, and FREE place to get some steps, learn about health, connect with a supportive community, and meet new friends!
