Sudbury, Ontario

Welcome to Walk with a Doc — led by Dr. Reena Dhatt of NEOMO Medical and NEOMO Health Group. Dr. Dhatt is a family physician deeply committed to the health and vitality of Greater Sudbury and Northern Ontario. After witnessing firsthand the profound impact that physical inactivity has on her patients — from rising rates of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes to declining mental wellness and accelerated aging — she made it her mission to bring Walk with a Doc to Sudbury. This is not just a walking program. It is a chance to step outside the clinic, breathe in the fresh Northern Ontario air, and take a meaningful step toward a healthier, longer life. Every walk begins with a brief, evidence-based health talk from Dr. Dhatt on a topic that matters to you — heart health, managing blood sugar, sleep, cancer prevention, stress, and more. Then, for the rest of the hour, you walk, connect, and ask questions in a relaxed, judgment-free setting.

Walk with a Doc is a global movement founded on one powerful belief: that your doctor can be your greatest health ally, not just inside the exam room, but out in the community beside you. Dr. Dhatt brings that belief to life every month in Sudbury.

Whether you are managing a chronic condition, looking to get more active, or simply curious about your health, these walks are designed for you — no fitness level required, completely free, and open to the entire community.

Come for the walk.

Stay for the conversation.

Leave feeling inspired.

Topic: The Science of Social Connection

We all know that spending time with people we care about feels good — but the research is revealing that it is doing something far more powerful than that. Studies now show that chronic loneliness carries health risks comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day, and that strong social bonds are one of the most consistent predictors of a long, healthy life across cultures worldwide. This talk is about why connection is not just a nice-to-have — it is one of the most evidence-backed things you can do for your health. And the good news is that it does not require a dramatic life overhaul. It starts with a conversation, a shared meal, a walk with a neighbour.
