According to the American Heart Association, walking has the lowest dropout rate of any physical activity. Think walking isn’t beneficial? Think again. It’s low-impact and gentler on the joints compared to running. With a doctor’s approval, it is safe for individuals with orthopedic issues, heart conditions, and those who are more than 20% overweight. Additionally, studies have shown that for every hour of regular exercise, you could add three hours to your life. That quick stroll around the block seems a bit more valuable now, doesn’t it?

Walk with a Doc is a walking program designed for anyone looking to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Participants spend a few minutes learning about a current health topic from a healthcare professional, followed by a healthy walk and engaging conversation. It’s an excellent opportunity to get active, enjoy the benefits of walking, and have fun. You can walk at your own pace and cover the distance you’re comfortable with.

This program was initiated in Columbus, OH, in April 2005 by Dr. David Sabgir and has since spread worldwide. No special gear or rules are required. Our walking groups offer a safe, enjoyable, and FREE way to get some steps in, learn about health, and make new friends.
