Take a Step Toward Better Health at Walk with a Doc

WALK

Walking is one of the best things you can do for both your physical and mental health! At each event, you’ll have the opportunity to walk at a pace and distance that you’re comfortable with.

LEARN ABOUT HEALTH

Each event starts with introductions. We’ll then start the walk, meeting new people and starting new conversations about health and wellness. About half way through the walk, we’ll stop and talk about the “health topic of the month”. Our goal is to get active, educate and empower individuals in learning and taking an active role in their health and wellness journey. You’ll also have the opportunity to chat with the leader and ask questions during the walk.

MEET NEW PEOPLE

Research shows that socializing with others is extremely important for our health. Bring a friend or meet a new friend at the walks.

Topic: Walking for Holiday Heart Health

This month’s topic for our walk is Walking for Heart Health — perfect timing, because the holidays are basically one big blood-pressure obstacle course. Between family dynamics, travel chaos, salty snacks, late nights, and “just one more peanut butter m&m,” (true confession) our hearts are doing more work than we realize.

The good news? A simple walk cuts through a lot of that stress. Within minutes, your blood vessels relax, your blood pressure starts drifting down, and your nervous system gets a break from the holiday frenzy. It’s one of the easiest, most effective ways to reset after too much sodium, too much tension, or too much… everything.

Hopefully you can join for a fun, easy walk, a little fresh air, and a chance to give your heart a breather from the seasonal madness. We’ll start at Trailhead Cafe, grab a coffee or tea for the stroll if you’d like. We’ll make our way to Miwok Park, where we’ll have an opportunity to practice a morning meditation, breathe the cool air of nature, share our gratitude and a sprinkle of holiday cheer.

Looking forward to seeing you and any friends/family or loved ones on leashes.

*if weather is questionable, check back in the days leading up to the walk. Any changes will be posted here!
