WWAD Co-Branding Sponsor: Springfield, Illinois

Can you really walk your way to fitness? Absolutely! Physical activity doesn’t need to be complicated or difficult. Something as simple as a daily brisk walk can help you live a healthier life.

The Prairie Walk with a Doc program is an opportunity for the community to walk and talk with health professionals. The program lasts approximately one hour and provides a fun and comfortable opportunity to exercise and talk with a health professional. Doctors will speak on a health topic that is important to the community and participants can ask questions during their walk. A limited number of participants will receive a free pedometer and t-shirt.

Doctors from Prairie Cardiovascular as well as other physician specialists from Hospital Sister Health System including Joslyn Diabetes, HSHS Medical Group and other health professionals (nutritionists, dietitians, advanced practice providers, exercise physiologists, etc.) lead the Prairie Walk with a Doc events.

The Walk with a Doc program is open to the entire community and everyone is welcome to participate, including patients, their family members and Prairie Cardiovascular and HSHS employees.

Registration for the event is required. Please contact Theresa Thompson tthompso@prairieheart.com to register of for more information.
