August 6, 2021 Good morning! Walk with a Doc is proud to announce a new partnership with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). We take the decision to partner with an organization seriously because we want to be sure that our work is complementary and most importantly, that our values and goals are aligned. And we certainly have this with PCRM. What is PCRM and what do they do? The Physicians Committee, founded in 1985, is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, DC. With more than 175,000 members, 17,000 of which are physicians, the Physicians Committee implements change through educational programs and campaigns about the power of a plant-based diet. Their efforts are dramatically changing the way doctors treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and cancer. By putting prevention over pills, doctors are empowering their patients to take control of their own health. Programming for the general public reaches many diverse communities, including their International Conference on Nutrition in Medicine for clinicians to bring nutrition into practice and the Let’s Beat Breast Cancer which empowers people with ways to reduce their risk for breast cancer with four simple steps. PCRM partners to deliver community education through 300 instructors who teach Food for Life nutrition and cooking classes all across the United States and internationally as well.
