4 Quick, Good Things

Posted on 06/06/202506/06/2025 by Walk with a Doc HQ

Good morning. Here are 4 quick, good things.

1. In case you missed it, how much would you guess a pet is worth? If you’re up for a little guessing game, think of a dollar amount and see how close you are to what this study showed. Amazing, right?! I have a family member with 4 cats and 2 dogs – how about those apples?

2. This brand new study has a ‘hack’ to improve our mental health. Imagine if you were to go for a walk after, with your pet, (get it?)

My goodness – it’s kind of stacking the deck, but if we’re competing against exhaustion, depression, and cognitive fatigue, we’ll take every edge we can get.

3. I first heard about this thingamajig reading Tim Ferriss’ Tribe of Mentors (awesome book) when they asked interviewees, “What purchase of $100 or less has most positively impacted your life in the last six months (or in recent memory)?. Our family and many friends, love this thing (this company doesn’t sponsor us). While it’s sold out on the above website, it’s available on Amazon.

4. Book I’m most excited to read. I recently asked a very cool professor, retired for decades, if he reads for fun and, if so, his favorite book. He smiled and said he’s reading this book right now. He’s reading it aloud to his wife from 11p to 12a every night. Goodreads has it at 4.57 (this author’s highest yet, and he’s put out some really great stuff). I told him that bedtime was a little late, but it is a very sweet visual.

Have a beautiful weekend. Hopefully outside with some walking, gardening, and friends (furry or otherwise).
