Good morning! Nice socks.
You have invested in our collective movement one way or another.
Therefore, I want to fill you in the best way I know how, alphabetically.
AIHM, ACLM, APHA – if you are going to any of these annual meetings in the next couple weeks, I would love to meet you. We are honored to present but the best part of the trip would be touching base with you.
Belle – we just started working with this great PR group out of Columbus. They are super professional and easy to work with as you we look to raise awareness of our great docs in Texas.
Cuba – Maria Wolf sent a letter this week to the decision makers in Santiago. It will be a challenge to start WWAD, but I think with Maria’s connections and charisma – it is going to happen. Do they sell Coca-Cola in Cuba?
‘Doc’umentary – ‘Alternate Route’ – Dr. Kim Field Springer’s cinematic exploit of WWAD was just accepted to the APHA Film Festival in Atlanta (Nov. 8th). What people are telling me is that it is like Cannes, only bigger. I don’t know. That’s just what people are saying.
E – See 21 Down
Florence Williams, author of the Nature Fix. If you are curious as to why being outside makes you feel better, you will really enjoy this book. I know take the scenic route home. Next, I will be hugging our tree.
Google – Did you see what they did this week? Almost.
Heart disease – is 80% preventable. PREVENTABLE.
ICHWC – More to come. Leigh-Ann Webster, thank you for reaching out. This has special potential.
Dr. Janet Wright (cardiologist) – The passionate leader of Million Hearts and longtime friend of WWAD. Janet, and her highly driven team, have already prevented over 500,000 heart attacks and strokes through Million Hearts.
Wha wha what?!
Kelly Clarkson!
Lucca, Italy – This pic is in front of the Dolomites. That is where Michelangelo went to get his marble for the David. Dr. Duccio Rossini is our man.
Millenifits – Just like we are giving PR a try, same with marketing. Shaun Young and his team have blown us away. My goodness were we lucky to come across this group.
National Rural Health Day – November 16th. Any rural hospital that wants to do a Walk with a Doc that day? Call us – we got you. Thank you Impact Communications.
Obesity – Did you see the news this week?
President Douglas Curran (Family Practice) – The popular TMA President-elect is starting WWAD in Athens, TX. Welcome Mr. President and thank you for your faith.
Quote – “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
Rachael, Jessica, and Bryan – the reason we are able to fill in these letters. Let’s be honest, me playing Doodle Jump all day is not going to transform medicine.
Salesforce – will be getting started with this soon. Marketing, PR and CRM – all new to us.
Trailer – This is the brand new trailer for code blue. Dr. Stancic and Marcia Machado are forces of nature with a palpable passion for improving the health of the country. If we survive the cutting room floor, we will be in great company. My goodness how special.
Under the Boardwalk
Vitamin D – The best way is to expose your skin to sunlight. You do NOT need to get tanned or burned. Please don’t. The amount varies depending on your skin exposed, time of day, color of skin and your location.
Wockhardt hospitals – The latest group in India to join. Rajashree Menon, my Skype buddy, in Mumbai is our India representative. I don’t know what put that fire under her rear to change her country, but I am not asking any questions.
X is for Xylophone
Y – See 4 Across
Zarr, as in my friend, Dr. Robert – This pediatrician has given a ‘fingerprint’ to close to 400 parks in the DC area. We are with him at APHA on Nov 6th. Dude is doing awesome work.
Welcome to the Family
Dr. Ghazala Javed in N. Charleston, South Carolina
Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie, Wyoming (Dr. Emma Bjore and Kendle Dockham)
Lakeland Medical Center and Hope Springs Water in Athens, TX supported by the Texas Medical Association (Dr. Doug Curran TMA President-elect)
O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, California (Dr. Naomi Koester)
Little Kids Showing You Their Muscles
(Awesome Thing #366)
Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish!
David, Jessica, Rachael, and Bryan
