Good morning! We love you guys – hope it’s been a great couple weeks.
Annemarie was a pioneer and internationally renowned figure in the field of
dysmorphology.
Closer to home, she was a beloved leader, friend, and steadfast presence at Walk with a Doc. For greater than 10 years, she led well over 60 wwads, took/printed 1000’s of pictures, and when unable to attend was visited hundreds of times by her wwad family.
That includes Dr. Theresa Wee, all the way from Oahu, who you also may recognize from
this.
Annemarie, before she passed, left wwad a generous donation. Our board decided these funds will be allocated towards a scholarship fund in her name for medical students and residents starting wwad and wwafuture’d’.
Finally, we got lucky.
The collllllllllld day (Dec.10th, 2016) that we honored Dr. Sommer with a supercool bench, Dr. Saray Stancic and Marcia Machado, were in town filming
codeblue. Thanks to our friends, Saray and Marcia, Dr. Sommer will live on forever in what will be a fantastic documentary.
