Real stories. Meaningful connections. A healthier community.
Every step has a story. Here are yours.
Earlier this year, we invited our Walk with a Doc community to share their experiences through our 2026 International Survey. Your responses reminded us that Walk with a Doc is about so much more than physical activity. It’s about friendships formed, confidence gained, challenges overcome, and communities brought together.
Here are just a few of the stories you shared with us!
On Friendship & Connection
“I select a new person each month and walk with them and listen to their story. Everyone has one. They all grin and greet me the next week. They cheer me up and make the hour drive to participate well worth it.”
On Finding Your Way Forward
“It has ‘kickstarted’ me into becoming active again after the death of my husband and encouraged me to get out and about more plus giving me vital health information.”
On Celebrating Every Step
“I appreciate that the ditance is in half-mile segments so that I can drop out when necessary. I started with a half mile, now do a full mile, and may be able to work up to 1-1/2 mile by the end of the year, At 94 I feel that’s pretty good!”
On the Power of Community
“Walk with a Doc encourages people to get outside, meet others, build friendships, learn something new and care for their physical and mental well-being. It also brings awareness to different trails and places in our community people may not otherwise discover. To me, it’s so much more than a walk – it’s an opportunity to connect, learn, move and feel part of the community.”
Whether you join us for the movement, the conversation, the health education, or simply the joy of being together, we’re grateful you’re part of the Walk with a Doc community.
Thank you for sharing your stories and reminding us why every step matters!
