You’re gonna need a bigger boat

Using Rock-Paper-Scissors to settle anything
(Awesome Thing #956)
Remind me: Walk with a Doc is coming to 300 new communities by June 30th, 2018. We need your help.
How can I help: Spread the word! Pick your favorite way to share each week from the options below.
What’s in it for me: You’ll help to create 1 million extra years of life! (see the math here) That’s right. That means 1 million extra years of taking the stairs beside somebody taking the elevator. #awesome. Also, $100 Gift Card to Amazon.
How many communities have you added so far? We’re glad you asked! Since June 2017, we’re added 149 communities and counting (see below). Maybe the next one will be yours?

Good morning!
You know that feeling when your favorite song comes on just as you are pulling up to a stoplight?
You position yourself so you are exactly in between the cars in the lane to your right. The car in the front right cannot see you in their side mirror (bad angle).
The car 50% back right cannot see because of that bar separating the passenger side front seat and back.
Your song just started, it’s a long light and you can sing and sing and sing with NO one noticing?
You don’t even have to hold your phone up to pretend your on a call?
That’s the way I feel right now.
It’s Alphabet Soup time…thanks for indulging us.
For those that are not fans of the long newsletter, you may want to change the channel. This is longer, but funnier – so time goes faster.
AMSA – Had a wonderful time meeting dozens of pre-med/med students at the AMSA national conference in D.C. Jamie Thayer Scates, Kelly Thibert, Sandy Fridy and others made this happen for us. How rad is it for all us millennials to rub shoulders as we plot out sticking it to the man by preventing disease before it starts?
Barbados – Justin Brathwaite is responsible for bringing WWAD to its 20th country. Ever been to Bridgetown? Me neither, but I love bridges, and I’d never say it in public, but I love Justin. Love him for his passion to make Barbados a healthier/happier place.
Cincinnati– Jessica Cotter and her team at the Jewish Hospital Mercy Health are scoring tons of people on Thursday a.m’s (10 am) – filling Kenwood Towne Center. They’re Co-Branders which enables us to provide scholarships to those that want to start but don’t have the resources. The Co-Branding program is like TOMS, only Blake is cooler than me. david, also, you’re not a millenial.
Documentary – most recent trailer from our good friends, Dr. Saray Stancic and Marcia Machado. They are in post-production and OMG we are excited for this baby. Likely 2018 release!
Enough exercise for the day? Go to Words with Friends 2 – My code name is David3362. Who wants to play? I’m bored.
Figueiredo – Welcome to Lisboa, Portugal. Dr. Cristiano Figueiredo’s group is growing and these believers are pictured below. Dude with the phone.
Go Blue – David’s daughter, Ally, just committed to the University of Michigan. This line was written by Rachael (UM Alum). David was born and trained at The Ohio State University and is genetically unable to saw those two words.
Go Blue, Ally!
Humans of New York – We are going to be doing something similar as we sew resources into showing you all the beautiful stories our leaders are seeing at their Walks. All you have to do is look. Leaders – note to self – forward cool stuff to Columbus so we can show you off to the world.
Immunotherapy – Game changer this week published in NEJM.
John Glenn College of Public Affairs – Lori Overmyer and her students at Ohio State’s JGCPA used WWAD as their subject this semester. They provided us with fantastic advice that we are already acting on. All of us millennials are going to change the world, just watch!
Killeen, TX – the latest and greatest from the TMA. That makes 52 Walk with a Doc’s in the Lone Star State. WHAT?! Excuse me, WHAT?!
They believed in us when we were just a small pup. Drooling, bumping into walls, not even yet aware that we had to sit for a treat.
Now look? My goodness, Texas. When the dust settles…you believed in us.
Lifestyle Communities – We are starting some collaborations with this incredible company. Their leadership is sick (that’s what us millennials call ‘supergood’). Itkicks off next Monday as we get to take part in Cook with the Walk.
My biceps – the only thing missing from this brilliant introductory video from Dr. Jill Clutter’s (look at that smile!) OSU Health Science Teamwork and Leadershipaward-winning class students. That soul patch looks so good on me – I’m going to try it out. Seriously guys, did you even check out my arms before you filmed this?
Second half next week. I did warn you to change the channel.
Welcome to the Family
