Walk with a Doc Newsletter
Good morning!
How are you on this beautiful morning?
Did you walk yet?
Me neither, I’m going to go for 10-15 minutes over lunch.
Text me.
Ever stood around the water cooler on a Friday with someone with undiagnosed ADHD?
Buckle up.
Jessica? – remember back to early/mid 2018?
Jessica Agricola?
Yeah, that one.
Look what she found just over a mile from her new house.
Distal right pocket.
Ends justifies the means?
I saw a 76 y/o patient recently that provided me some insight.
This patient had lost 45 pounds in the last 12 months (now 256 lbs).
I’d been following this patient at the same weight of 298-304 for 8 years.
“Look at you John Doe! How did you do it?”
His spirit was matter of fact with possibly a tint of angry.
“David, do you remember what you said to me last year?
You said, “I don’t have any patients in their 80’s that weigh 300 lbs”
“Are you upset with me, John?”
I was hoping he was happy about the weight loss and the answer would be ‘no’.
“No, David, I’m not.
You started by saying – I’m saying this because I care about you”
New WWAD Feature – for our walk leaders.
You may have already seen a couple emails (physician list) regarding ‘Potential Topics’?
(a) look for more – we have a few in the hopper that have led to great discussions in Columbus. Plus…
(b) please send us your ideas on what’s worked. We’ll distribute. Super.
We were honored to take part in this podcast by my friend, and great person,
David Schwab.
wwad story airs in the next week or two.
For those interested in improving your patient’s lifestyle, this message is succinct and powerful.
(Unlike this newsletter, right Dave?)
Thank you to Reva Foy for bringing this message from Healio to our attention.
Great documentary?
Saw it last night. Inspiring. Heartwarming. Brilliantly done.
We used to have Shuttle Buses…
For those frigid Ohio February days, the hospital generously offers to drive us associates to the front door.
I haven’t looked hard, but I hadn’t seen the shuttle buses for a while.
Then yesterday, look what I saw in its place (below).
Shotgun.
That thing’s going to get us to the front door in a heartbeat!
