Good morning! I’m so happy to be with you.

I trust, like almost all of my patients, you had a nice Thanksgiving. I hope so.

Brrrr! So, this morning’s newsletter might be shorter because I am choosing to write it outside (currently 24 F in Columbus).

Why am I in a t-shirt/shorts you ask?

Fair question.

I want to demonstrate that Being outdoors is great for you (if you have personal concerns, I get it, please speak with your doctor). As the outdoors article lays out, it is important to layer, not be exposed like me. Yep, this is going to be a short one.

Taking some medicine: It was a tough week sportswise for Bryan and me. Rachael graduated from a school north of Ohio State and our rivalry game did not go as planned on Saturday. Do you have an allegiance to OSU or the other school? All in good fun, until OSU gets hurt.

Movie rec: Do you have Netflix? This is a great one.

Can you h-hear me, okay? I know my teeth are s-s-starting to chat-ter a little bit.

Resolutions: Are you starting to think about goals for 2025? Same here.

Every Day – bring it: As you consider the physical activity side of things – I’d like to offer up some (more) unsolicited advice. If you’re resuming after a break from being active, please do not worry about the intensity – it’s all about consistency. You will see amazing results with consistency. Just show up day after day, I promise, it works. Here’s a really good book centered on that.

Observation from abroad: Krissy and I were fortunate enough to be in SE Asia last month with some close friends. With the time change, it was super easy to get out to some beautiful city parks in the early hours (5a/6a). I figured I’d be alone. Ha! Hundreds of people. I was stunned. 5:30 am hundreds of people. Many in their 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and up. They were walking or running together, playing badminton (with racquets or with their feet), dancing, tai chi, playing soccer, and using stationary equipment provided by the park. It was beautiful to see.

Again, 24 degrees here – I’m going inside for a cup of hot coffee, maybe two?

I hope you have a magical Friday. You’ve earned it. You deserve it.
