Good morning! How’s your New Year coming along. Day 17 right in front of us. Any resolutions? Yeah, I didn’t really either. Well, I did have a theme. Make <things> happen, even if was risky and made me uncomfortable. The Brene’ Brown must finally be kicking in.Under that umbrella, this Monday, Krissy and I were walking Phoebe past our local coffee shop at 5 something am. This young lady was in there stapling up photos to the community board while Krissy grabbed a couple coffees from her opening partner. This bulletin board stapler had come to my attention over the last two months (no, not in that way). Backstory: Two weeks ago, Rachael, Bryan and I agreed that with wwad’s growth we might need to bring our next program lead teammate in 2020. I knew nothing about this young woman other than she was incredibly genuine in the interactions I had seen her have with customers in recent weeks. I don’t usually catch that stuff – this was absurdly wonderful and sweet to watch. Honestly you have to see it. I had just put together that I was witnessing the same person each time I was impressed. Krissy came out, I traded the leash for my coffee and went in, trying to take the weird out of it right away.“Good morning. I’m a doctor, I’m part of a non-profit and would you be willing to let us share what we do with you – I think you are amazing with people.” Gulp – it’s out there. She smiled and said absolutely. She wrote her name and number on a brown paper bag and we met at the bakery a few doors down yesterday. She had spent the last 4 days researching Walk with a Doc.I spent 45 minutes trying (a) not to talk too much and (b) learning her background and what lights her up.. Her story, character, and class made me proud of my first impression. This is totally inappropriate, she hasn’t even met with Bryan or Rachael yet, but between you and me? I think she might be perfect. <I checked to confirm that her email is not on our distribution list this morning>. So, if you want, I’ll let you know what Bryan and Rachael think (in one on one emails with just you and me).Is it bad that we’re going to put her through 3 interviews? Why the 447 words?Just trying to see if you can take an extra bite out of 2020 like I did. You never know, might turn out pretty well :)I’m probably going to get in trouble for writing this.Sincerely,Michael Scott Unrelated, wwad is going to be on Sirius XM tomorrow and Sunday.
