We’re excited to announce… Walk Challenge 2020! We think you will be excited too, and we hope you will share this opportunity with your family, friends, and colleagues. Our Walk Challenge this year is a two week trek up Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania from November 14 – November 28. But don’t worry, no special climbing equipment or experience required. Heck you don’t even need a passport. This year we are embracing the virtual world and are taking a journey to the roof of Africa from the safety of our homes and neighborhoods. The Walk Challenge is 44 miles, but you have two weeks to complete it AND almost any physical activity counts! Registration is simple and there will be easy ways for you to encourage others to participate and donate to Walk with a Doc in your name (and help you earn some awesome swag!). Why are we doing this? We need to move and socially connect now, more than ever before. We’re going to walk off those holiday snacks and connect with our Walk family through this cool, interactive virtual platform. Not to mention, this is a great way to: Exercise – we will cover 44 miles in 2 weeks, November 14 – November 28 Educate – WWAD physicians will share their health expertise on a variety of topics at virtual base camps along the route Empower – 44 miles is most likely a challenge for many of us, but there will be a community of support where we can cheer each other on, and empower each other to take on a challenge! And again, any physical activity counts. Your support will allow WWAD to enhance virtual programming for more communities around the world to access the life-changing tenents of Walk with a Doc. |
ps We think we’ve talked David into autographing his headshot for the first 50 to register. |
